While this CD recycling program is not meant as a secure process, all material is disposed of in exactly the same manner as our NAID AAA certified secure data destruction material.  No data storage device or data media will ever be sold for reuse. 

An ounce of prevention.

CDs and DVDs have limited useful life. It is a good practice to properly dispose of your unwanted CDs. Many home shredders will work to shred CDs and DVDs. If you choose to shred them first, you can send the clean shredded material to Back Thru The Future for free recycling. Please remove paper inserts first.

Do you require CD shredding certification?

If requested, we will shred CDs and DVDs for you and will provide an email identifying the weight of the destroyed materials and the date of destruction.

CDs and DVDs will be shred and an audit trail will be maintained through the entire destruction process.
